Hidden between two walls, The Rising Café, in Lincoln does not look like the kind of place that would leave you speechless, but the phrase ‘never judge a book by its cover’ has never been so true. As you walk in the character is completely different. Surrounded by the gorgeous steam punk style decorations, and the sound of cheerful talking, The Rising Café is an amazing atmosphere filled with vintage yet alternative décor. Whether it’s raining or sunny outside, this quaint little café always has the same uplifting vibe.

As you walk in this tranquil café for your morning caffeine hit, it’s very unlikely it will be you last time, thanks to the breath-taking interior and delicious menu. The Rising Café emulates a 1940’s train station with steampunk twist. A member of staff told us that the majority of the decorations you can see in the cafe were donated by gardeners who found various items lying about while they were working, creating a beautiful disarray of rustic and antique pieces. The mystery of where these items come from will fabricate into imaginative stories told across the table.

There are old suitcases used as tables and shelves, aged signs from various towns and places, and used posters, clocks and pots randomly placed around making the whole café look like a genius but insane work of art. On close inspection of the menu, you will fall further in love with with The Rising Café, the wide selection of tea, coffee, cakes and savoury items make everybody struggle to stay there just for one hot drink.

Satiating your cravings for coffee or your hunger, squeezing in a catch up with your friends, or finally visiting more places with different atmospheres, The Rising Café will become your favourite place to grab your morning coffee and to spend your lazy afternoon.
